Cast Iron TY251 Pressure Breaker Packing Rings

The pressure breaker is used to stabilize the packing in the compressor. It is bored slightly over the rod diameter to allow a controlled leakage at the bore of the ring. This breaking down of the pressure in the first packing cup allows a slow buildup and drop off of pressure on each stroke.
